Abducted Students of Federal University Gusau and Staff Regain Freedom

Students and staff of Federal University Gusau, abducted seven months ago, have finally regained their freedom from their captors. The abduction occurred in February this year during a bandit attack in the Gusau area.

After an extended period in captivity, all abducted individuals returned in good health, thanks to the crucial role played by security forces in their rescue. Although details of their release remain unclear, it’s a welcome relief for the victims and their families.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first report of abduction in the region. In September 2023, bandits invaded hostels in Sabon-Gida community, Zamfara State, abducting over 20 students, mostly ladies. Some were released after months, but 23 remained in captivity until they were rescued by security forces in April 2024
