Abondoned project: Adamawa govt to complete construction of state of the art Jimeta modern stadium

Adamawa State government under the leadership of Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the the construction and completion of the stadium that was abandoned for decades to the tune of over N4b

The Ultra Modern Stadium with state- of-the art equipment the State executive council has awarded the contract msssr Aron Nig Ltd with the expectation to complete within 40 weeks.

commission of Youth and Sports, Barr Wali Yakubu while shedding more light to the contract awarded, he praised Govenor Fintiri’s Leadership ingenuity to get a befitting stadium.

He said the services of Al-ameen consultants was also hired by the state government to the tune of over N212m to get the job well done.

The Adamawa government also during its 5th SEC meeting for 2024 approved the sum of 18.8billion naira as variation for the additional work at the super highway from FGGC Yola to AA Lawan junction through Rumde Kila.

The emergency meeting which was presided over by President in council, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Council Chamber Government House told journalists shortly after
the emergency meeting.

The commissioner of information and strategy, Mrs Neido Geoffrey Kufoltu also briefed the council going by the increase in scope of work on the ongoing super highway approved 18.8billion naira taking the new contract sum to 40.6billion naira

The council, she further stated the approved formal handover of the C of O of the Federal Medical Centre, Hong to the Federal Ministry of Health for the proper take off of the facility in the overall interest of the citizens

Owing to the commitment of the Fintiri led administration to unify youths, promote peaceful coexistence and reduce youths restiveness, the council she said approved over 4.7billion naira for the completion of the ultra modern stadium.

The council according to her also in keeping to one of its agenda approved the payment of a grant of 450million naira as counterpart funding for global fund which will attract 15billion naira for more support and empowerment to service 270 thousand women in the state.

On his part, the commissioner of budget and planning, Emmanuel Piridimso said to ensure budget discipline and MDAs work within its budget except a supplementary budget is required, the council approved 18.2billion against 2023 fiscal year thereby closing that budget year and hoping for a more successful fiscal year.
