In a bold step toward fostering a culture of wellness in the entertainment industry, the Adamawa State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) held a highly successful Health Walk and Medical Outreach on May 10, 2025, in Yola, the state capital.

Spearheaded by the chapter’s Chairman, Amb. Patience Ezekiel, the event drew enthusiastic participation from AGN members and the broader Yola community. The initiative aimed to highlight the importance of regular health check-ups, promote healthy living habits, and encourage physical fitness within and beyond the entertainment sector.

The day began with a spirited Health Walk through the streets of Yola, as actors, health professionals, and community members came together in a vibrant show of support for wellness. Placards bearing messages about preventive healthcare and fitness served as a powerful reminder of the need for regular physical activity in daily life.

Participants were offered free medical screenings as part of the outreach program

Following the walk, participants were offered free medical screenings as part of the outreach program. Local healthcare professionals volunteered their time to conduct vital health checks and offer consultations. Services included blood pressure checks, body mass index assessments, and general health counseling.

Interactive sessions on health education formed a key part of the program, with discussions covering topics such as diet, exercise, mental well-being, and the long-term benefits of preventive care. Participants were also educated on how to access healthcare resources within their communities.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to not just the craft of acting but the holistic well-being of our members and the society at large,” said Amb. Patience Ezekiel. “Health is foundational to creativity and productivity, and we are proud to set this example in Adamawa State.”
