ADAFEST 2025: Commissioner Praises Gov Fintiri for Reviving Adamawa’s Cultural Celebration

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Aloysius Baba Dokes, has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his exceptional leadership and commitment to promoting unity and cultural heritage through the upcoming Adamawa State Arts and Culture Festival (ADAFEST 2025).

In a press statement, Dokes described the festival, scheduled for April 25 to 29, 2025, as a landmark event poised to boost economic activities and attract both local and international investors into the state.

He highlighted the governor’s dedication to reviving ADAFEST, which was first held in 1978 during the defunct Gongola State and later in 2005, marking its return after a significant hiatus since Adamawa State’s creation in 1992.

“Governor Fintiri has raised the bar of leadership with his passion for serving humanity,” Dokes said, praising the governor’s approval and support for the festival.
He described Fintiri as a “listening and ever-workaholic governor” whose efforts have made this celebration of Adamawa’s diverse cultural heritage possible.

Adamawa State is home to many cultural festivals, including the Sukur UNESCO World Heritage Site, which showcases the state’s rich cultural heritage.

ADAFEST 2025 aims to foster unity, peace, and pride in the state’s rich cultural tapestry, showcasing its traditions and talents to a global audience. The event is expected to draw significant attention to Adamawa’s cultural and economic potential.
