The 65 political appointments recently done by the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been considered a marginalised one with hundreds of party loyalists who are supposed to be considered but sidelined and given to some people who are not even members of the party.

A group under the umbrella of a coalition of PDP support groups have cried out of deliberate marginalization despite the much they have contributed to bringing to power the administration of Governor Ahmadu.

The Adamawa spokesman of the group, Mohammed B. Ahmed in an interview with TGNEWS said the Coalition of PDP Support Groups is a conglomeration of the over two hundred and eighteen various support groups that campaigned tirelessly for the success of PDP in the State right from 2018 until 2019 but only came together to form a coalition structure after the 2019 election for administrative purposes.

Ahmed worried that the sidelining of the group is not a good omen for the party they are loyal to if at this time when 65 appointments were given without a thought to consider the group.

Ahmed said although Alhaji Atiku Abubakar lost the election as the Presidential candidate of PDP, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri solicited their support with a promised to work and make them part of his government.

He revealed that Ahmadu during the meeting at Atiku’s support group office in Yola a day before his election assured them of involving them in the issues of governance if he eventually wins the election.

He also revealed how the PDP party Chairman in the State, Barr A T Shehu had several meetings with them and redoubled the assurance of making them part and parcel of the government.

According to him Fintiri’s and the party chairman’s assurance spurred them to action and went to all places of the state campaigning, some of them on the day of election were placed as polling units agents and extra agents to Mann the place against rigging.

“Could you believe that since the Governor wins the election efforts were made to pay him a courtesy call prove abortive. We tried all our best to even meet with the people who are close to the Governor like Prof Liman Tukur, Hon Kwaomati Lori, the SSG Bashir Ahmed, Speaker Adamawa House of Assembly and even the party Chairman is not possible?

” All that we are saying, this is not the price of the bargain and what we’ve have agreed to, if sixty-five people will be appointed as advisers and senior aides and no single person was given the appointment from the people who have worked hard to bring this government to be only to consider even those from the opposition we think is not normal.

“We are pleading with Governor Fintiri to as a matter of oneness and promise fulfilment to remember this coalition that has former members, Chairmen, councillors, aged women and even the disabled who help in canvassing votes for him to win the election,” Ahmed said

Director-General of Media and communication to the Governor when contacted said: “Kindly reach the party Chairman.”

All efforts made to have the Party ‘s chairman response, Barr AT Shehu failed as all calls put through his not number are not been picked and failed to respond to his WhatsApp and SMS messages.
