‎In a major political earthquake threatening to tear apart the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa, two influential senators are reportedly on the verge of dumping the party in protest against the controversial imposition of Sadiq Dasin as the state chairman.

‎A highly placed insider who spoke exclusively to Tgnews on Thursday revealed that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani and Senator Binos Abbo have reached the end of their tether with the party leadership’s decision, describing it as “outrightly wrong” and an act of gross injustice they are no longer willing to tolerate.

‎“They are not happy with the decision to impose a chairman on them,” the source said. “They see it as an imposition that undermines the democratic process within the party. They can’t take the injustice anymore and are seriously considering leaving the ADC.”

‎The development comes barely weeks after Sadiq Dasin was announced as the new ADC chairman in Adamawa, a move that has reportedly triggered deep resentment among key stakeholders who felt sidelined in the process.

‎Party insiders say the senators, both heavyweights with strong grassroots followership and political influence in the state, view the imposition as a clear violation of internal democracy and an attempt to foist leadership without consultation or consensus.

‎Attempts by Tgnews to reach the senators for comments proved unsuccessful as at press time, while efforts to get a reaction from the newly imposed chairman, Sadiq Dasin, were also unsuccessful.

‎The crisis is the latest in a series of internal wranglings rocking the ADC in Adamawa, raising fresh questions about the party’s stability and ability to present a united front.

‎More details are expected to emerge in the coming hours as the political drama unfolds. Tgnews will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they develop.
