The Adamawa State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has consented to a move by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to woo them back to the party.
The duo party officials and hundreds of their supporters in a meeting at the ADC Secretariat in Yola mutually agreed to work together as the only way the people of Adamawa will benefit from the dividends of democracy.
The North East caretaker committee National Vice Chairman of APC, Prof Mamman Tahir on what he described as a Unity meeting told the entire ADC to come back to APC their known identity home.
Tahir who led an entourage of APC officials under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal wooed them to rejoin the party to ensure good governance in the state.
Senator Abdulaziz Murtala Nyako who was the ADC Governorship candidate consented to the move and said that the members of the party will go back to their drawing board to consult God and other stakeholders for a final decision.
“We are going back to consult God in prayers for Him to make it a reality and for the good of Adamawa people to benefit from the dividends of democracy,” Nyako said
Senator Aziz who represented the people of Adamawa Central Zone from 2015 to 2019 under the APC party because of the then squabbles in the party decamped to ADC and ran for the governorship seat.
The leader of the delegation, Mamman was asked by Nyako if they will be ready for ADC to join APC as it is a bride of necessity.
“Sir are you ready for this marriage? ADC is a bride with a good bride price but our people will certainly go back to consult stakeholders and give back a positive response.” Nyako added
The ADC party Chairman in the state, Alhaji Yahaya Hammanjolde (Yaya Vice) said the meeting is a fruitful one and will give a very good omen to the people of Adamawa state.
He said senior members of the party present like Kugama Mijinyawa, Attahiru Isiaku Ahmadu, and many others is an attestation of their consent to what APC needs from them but depends on APC to meet their myriad demands and terms of conditions for their decamp.
