A text of Press Conference by Chairman, ALGON, Adamawa state, Hon Jingi Rufai got the attention of the General News (TG NEWS) editorial team over a story they published on 11th November 2020.
The seesaw statement is, however, attempting to tarnish the image of the reputable online medium which is known for its fact-based reportage. This is to also say that ALGON response show it lacks of sincerity to have admitted that there was a misunderstanding
It became a duty to TG NEWS editorial team to respond to such a skewed and unintelligent statement by the leader of Adamawa twenty-one local government chairmen after using unregistered and ravenous claimed news bloggers who cannot be trace with an address of where they operate. It’s unfortunate for ALGON to hire mediums with panting spirit of pauper paid and cheap blackmail. We however appreciate them for using such mediums to give TGNEWS the unpaid publicity It never solicited through the hatchet jobs they are known for.
May we, therefore, remind ALGON and the good people of Adamawa state that TGNEWS stand by the story it published on 11th November, 2020 for the following reasons and evidence.

2. This is when after so many online mediums have also published the same story. Few among those mediums are:

3. A member of the ALGON, Chairman, Maiha Local Government, Hon Idi Amin told FOMBINA TIMES reporter on a particular refuttal story revealed there was a fight in government.
For the avoidance of doubt TGNEWS quoted Idi in the Fombina times report to have said:
“What led to the renewed blackmail followed a misunderstanding between him on one hand and the chairman of Mubi north and Song local governments on the other hand.
“He said the two chairmen even attempted to beat him up during a meeting with the governor at the government house chambers due to some issues that have to do with funds.
“He said he is not perturbed by the blackmail video because the person involved was not the one making the case against him.”

As a responsible news medium whose in-house policy is fair play to all parties will never publish such a report without getting responses from all parties involved, evidence are there for all concern people to see the efforts TG NEWS made to further authenticate the story and the parties were not responding to their calls.
TG NEWS is therefore standing by the story and cannot within 24 hours bring any evidence because the said report is not the originator and there was admittance by one of its member there was a fight in government House.
