Adamawa APC Congress: Judge restrains swearing-in Song LG newly elected officials by Court order

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) members of Song Local Government Area of Adamawa state not satisfied with the outcome of the last Congress elections of the party headed to court and seek for redress.

The members are; Babangida Nasiru, Abdullahi Umar Muhammad, Babaye Bawan, Donard Eli, Edan Mayo, and Roda Mathias are plaintiffs/applicants through learned counsel, Muhammed B Umar dragged the Adamawa APC under the caretaker committee of Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, the caretaker committee chairman of Song Local Government and the members, the committee chairman from the nation with the mandate to conduct the congress, Prof Umar Katsayel (Respondents/Defendants) restraining the swearing-in of the new party officials.

The applicants filed a case at the Adamawa Upper Area court 1 before His worship Hon. Mohammed Abubakar where he (Judge) said; “the application has merit and ought to be granted and it is and it is hereby granted.”

The Judge, in an interim injunction, ordered that the defendants/Respondents by themselves or through their officers, servants, agents, privies, representatives, or however called from swearing in the elected APC members of Song Local Government pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suits. Any other orders the honorable court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of this application.

The honorable Judge in the order restrained the defendants/respondent from swearing in the elected APC members of Song Local Government pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

“This order takes effect immediately and it should be served to the respondents/defendants and the Nigerian police for compliance. Meanwhile, this case is and is hereby adjourned to 9/9/2021 for hearing on the motion on notice.” The order read
