The Member representing Fofore and Gurin constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Honourable Shuaibu Babas said the All Progressives Congress, APC, is a rudderless party with no sense of direction.
Babas who recently defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) told TG NEWS during an interview in Yola that the party lacks a good Shepherd who can design, decide and direct the affairs of the party well in the interest of all members.
According to him this and many other reasons ranging from injustice and selective treatment have made him dump the party for PDP, the ruling party in the State.
He narrated how he has been faced with a lot of court cases with his political opponents but no one cares to know the struggles he went through from lower to an upper court, up to Supreme Court.
He worried that the party leadership have nothing to offer to any elective party man whenever is in trouble or facing a lot of challenges.
“Thank God I left this party that has no sense of leadership and direction, no one seems to lead the party, it’s rudderless and a party without a guiding shepherd.
” Imagine how the party went through a lot of turbulence before their primaries, and after the primaries, they are always in one political hullabaloo to another and no one seems to chastise or reprove when things are going contrary.” Shuaibu said
Babas continued to say that there is an ongoing gross injustice in the party being meted on people like him in many instances.
He told the ordeal story of how he was schemed out of plan during the primary election that led to his losing the ticket with one vote.
The lawmakers blamed his failure on the leaders of the party and the stakeholders who are passive and inactive to take control of the party’s apparatus.
“They are withered and lamed with ideas that will effectively manage the party to a stardom, they don’t command respect of their loyalists, this is where I can see the party in a frozen situation that will be hard for them to win any election.” He said
He praised the government of PDP under the leadership of Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for being a good leader in controlling the party affairs to the benefit of all party members.
He said PDP in Adamawa state is intact, and leaders like A T Shehu are taking care of the party the way it should be run, as he is more comfortable now in PDP than where he was, APC, the main opposition party in the state.
He revealed that he and many others will this coming Monday, 15th August are going to be formally received by the PDP presidential flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who is equally the Son of the soil in Yola
