The outcome of Local Government (LG) Congresses of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state appeared to be sour and not comfortable to many party supporters.
The last Saturday’s congress that led to the emergence of party officials of Girei LG made Muhammad Umar, Isa Ardo, Ardo Buba, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Abigail Joel, Lamido Bose, Sidiki Bamanga, Halilu Sule and Abubakar Audu as plaintiffs/applicants approached Adamawa Area Court 1 for an order to stop the swearing in of the newly members over what they described fair play and lack of internally Democracy.
The members of APC in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state are said to have not satisfied with the outcome of the last Congress elections of the party headed to court and seek redress through learned counsel, Muhammed B Umar and dragged the Adamawa APC under the caretaker committee of Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, the LG (Girei) caretaker committee chairman, Abubakar Audu and the members, the committee chairman from the nation with the mandate to conduct the congress, Prof Umar Katsayel (Respondents/Defendants) restraining the swearing-in of the new party officials.
The applicants filed before His worship Hon. Mohammed Abubakar and reiterated that the application has merit and ought to be granted and it is and it is hereby granted.
The Judge, in an interim injunction, ordered that the defendants/Respondents by themselves or through their officers, servants, agents, privies, representatives, or however call from swearing in the elected APC members of Girei Local Government pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suits. Any other orders the honorable court may deem fit to make in the circumstances of this application.
