Adamawa APC LGA stakeholders endorses Hamidu as acting Chair

The All Progressives Congress APC executive in Ganye Local Government Area have endorsed its Assistant legal adviser,Alhaji Hamidu Gangneksumen as the acting Chairman of the party.

The APC executive through Mr Jangsen Dominic the auditor of the party and Chairman of investigation panel set up by the former Chairman to recover vehicles from the Vice Chairman and the Secretary announced their decision during a stakeholders meeting in Ganye Tuesday.

The committee chairman said following the resignation Alhaji Jibrin Ali Gangjari as Party chairman and suspension of his Vice Mr Augustine Bonokamenni over selling of vehicle belonging to the party, they have adopted Alhaji Hamidu Gangneksumen to serve as acting Chairman of the party.

According to the report of the investigation Committee and minutes of meetings presented to the stakeholders after finding the vice chairman wanting of the allegation, twenty eight executive committee members have signed for the endorsement of the acting chairman, saying that he is worthy of the position based on his contributions to the party.

Speaking during the meeting the APC Vice Chairman Adamawa South Alhaji Yunusa Buwangal while confirming the receiving of the notification letter said already he have forwarded it to the State Executive of the party and call on the acting chairman to shun all forms of distraction and remain focussed on improving the fortunes in the local government.

In his remark the Secretary of the party Alhaji Abdulmalik Nanu who was cleared by the investigation committee said the vice Chairman, has no legal authority to function as Chairman of the APC having been suspended by the local government executive and urged the acting chairman to work inline with the laws establishing the party.

Also speaking on the suspension of the vice chairman of the party on the allegations levelled against him and appointment of Alhaji Hamidu Gurum as Acting chairman, the member representing Ganye Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly Alhaji Alhassan Hammanjoda saluted the Local Government Exco for selecting the right person.

Alhassan Hammanjoda while assuring his support to the decision of the executive committee of the party in Ganye, charged the APC family in the area to work with the acting chairman to enable him succeed in the task of repositioning the party.

Other stakeholders who spoke during the meeting includes, the former Chairmen of Ganye local government, Elders and Cuacas Chairmen, ALGON Chairman, Women leader of the party among others said there is no cause for alarm as transpired is democracy in action.

The Acting chairman Alhaji Hamidu Gurum while thanking the party for the honour bestowed on him, also expressed gratitude to the stakeholders of the party in the Local Government with their effort towards repositioning the party
