The All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries that saw the emergence of Honourable Yusuf Buba Yakubu (Captain) as the flag bearer of Gonbi/Hong federal constituency was said to have been bedeviled with a lot of electoral irregularities by his opponent.
Pharmacist Jesse Chidama, a strong contender wrote a petition to the state primaries election appeal committee and said that the process was skewed against him by some party men who aided the victory of Buba.
He said the action is against the principles of internally party democracy and again the Constitution of the APC party.
In the petition, Jesse Campaign Directorate signed by Mohammed Mayas accused Gambo Shelleng as one of those who will be held responsible for their failure.
They said the electoral committee chairman signed to conduct the election in Hong led by Gambo Shelleng manipulated the process by giving them wrong information regards timing and the election logistics.
It’s in this premise Mallam Gambo told Jesse and his political cronies that is never part of his political woes and pitfalls.
Shelleng said Chidama and his accomplices should be told that he is not the party official that conducted the primary election in Hong as stated in their petition.
Gambo said his primary assignment for that day, according to him as a party official he was given the mandate to head a committee of the election in Song local government and ensure a free and fair conduct of the election take place.
He wonder why his name was mentioned in their petition and tagged him as part of Chidama’s failure who was in Hong, a venue he never visited for the primaries exercise.
He warned that his name should be removed from their petition else he will never contemplate taking legal action against them to seek redress
He advised them to go to the party secretariat and found out who was the party official sent to Hong that day to conduct the primaries election exercise.
“I was not in Hong for any primary election assignment, I was sent to Song to conduct the exercise, Jesse should count me out of his woes.
” Let them remove my name from this mess and channel their petition rightly by visiting the party office and know the real person that was assigned role to conduct the election in Hong.
“They should count me out of their woes please, I’m not part of it and I can’t be ever part of this anti internal Democratic of our party,” Gambo said
