Adamawa State House of Assembly got new Clerk as a motion was moved to confirmed the appointment of Deputy clerk of the house, Alhaji Umar Usman Hamid as substantive clerk to the state Assembly.
The confirmation of the clerk followed a notification letter forwarded to the house by the Adamawa State house of Assembly Service Commission and read on the floor of the house by the speaker Aminu Iya Abbas.
Motion to that effect was moved by the majority leader of the house Hammantukur Yettisuri of Jada Mbulo constituency and seconded by Minority leader Muhammad Mutawalli of Gieri during Wednesday’s sitting.
After considering the wealth of experience of Umar Usman Hamid while serving in various capacities in the house including acting clerk to the house Speaker Iya Abbas put the motion for his confirmation and unanimously supported by the lawmakers present during the sitting.
Meanwhile the speaker of the house Aminu Iya Abbas constituted five man committee headed by member representing Verre Constituency Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Yapak to look into the General regulations for the management of funds in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Other members of the committee are Isa Yahya of Maiha, Simon Isa of Song, Alhassan Hammanjoda of Ganye and Ibrahim Musa Italiya of Mayo Belwa constituency.
