The Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has established an Ad Hoc Committee to probe numerous irregularities in public schools.

The Committee was charged to look into four problems, including any means of payment or arbitrary registration of prospective candidates for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO) by schools.

Checks by TGNEWS revealed that other issues to be investigated by the committee includes the state’s style of employment, Governor Fintiri’s school feeding program, and the PTA levy with a view to clarifying the precise amount to be paid by pupils/students every term.

On Monday, the Committee grilled Lawan Abubakar Umar, the State Chairman of the PTA, and the Principals of GSS Numan, Mubi, and Aliyu Mustapha College, John K. Filibus, Saidu Jibrilla, and Ibrahim H. Tukur, and requested that the Ministry of Education leadership, led by Hon. Wulbina Jackson, appear on Tuesday.
