Adamawa Community cries for help over rate of Criminal activity

The Adamawa based association, Yungur Area Development Association in Song local government area of has raised alarm over incessant Kidnapping and Armed robbery cases in their area.

Pa Jones Abonemdan ,the national chairman of the association raised the alarm in an interview with Newsmen in Yola on Saturday.

Abonemda, said that , for the past three months the rampant activities of Kidnapping and armed robbery had terrorised the Yungur land.

He listed the most affected areas to include Dumne town, Dirma District, Batum and Koti.

Others are Bwadai,Kindo,Dadin Kowa, Dur-Pra and Kwah-Gwardina villages.

” For the past Three months the Yungur community are sleeping with one eye closed.

” Our people are forced to stop going to their farms for harvest for fear of being robbed or Kidnapped in a broad day light.

” Between August and October ,2018, Nine persons were kidnapped in different occasion while harvesting at their farms and others at their respective homes” Abonemda said.

He explained that among the Kidnapped victims include three Women and Six males.

He said noted that between August to October, over five million naira was spent by the community for the releases of their people from the captives

On the armed robbery, he chairman said that the total amount carter away by the men of the underworld was yet to ascertain.

He regretted that the Police Division established in Dumne to carter the need of over 300,000 population and vast land mass with over fifty villages has only twenty personnel suffering with lack of equipment.

He appealed to the state commissioner of Police to look into the matter in view to address it squarely.
