Adamawa CP receives commendation by Gov Fintiri for steadfast fight against crime

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has yesterday commended Adamawa State commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adeyanju over the high rate of success he achieved in reducing insecurity and crime in the state.

The governor who made the statement at the end of the year and send forth party in honour of the commissioner as well as some gallant officers and men of the command, noted that on assumption of office about a year ago, Adeyanju met a state grappling with serious insecurity challenges.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Crowther Seth, noted that the commissioner of police who hit the ground running, however proved his mettle and immediately started combating the menace, including fighting the dreaded Shilla boys, kidnappers and armed robbers in the state resulting in drastic reduction of criminality in the society.

The governor who congratulated the CP over his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police said, he was not surprised at the feat, adding that the promotion was well deserved.

Fintiri noted that the AIG has brought a lot of innovations in combating crimes in the society which yielded high premiums.

The governor urged the AIG to maintain the tempo so that the state and the country will be rid of the menace of insecurity which has become Nigeria’s pastime.

In his speech, Adeyanju lauded the state government for the immense support and cooperation it accorded him resulting in the successes he achieved.

He also thanked stakeholders and by extension the people of the state for their spiritedness and support which made it possible for him to achieve the feat.

During the event, a number of officers and men of the command including the commissioner of police, the command’s PRO, and some DPOs were conferred with various awards for good conduct and exhibition of gallantry.
