Adamawa flood: Boss Mustapha commiserates with victims, describes incident as devastating tragedy

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has extended his heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of Adamawa State over the recent flood disaster that ravaged several communities in Yola South and Yola North Local Government Areas.

In a message of condolence released on Monday, Mustapha described the incident as a devastating tragedy that has brought untold hardship and sorrow to the affected residents. He expressed deep concern for the victims, especially those who lost their loved ones, homes, livelihoods, and property in the calamity.

The affected communities include Bole-Yolde Pate, Lakare, and Shagari in Yola South LGA, as well as Nyakore, Jambutu, and Rumde Baru in Yola North LGA, where torrential rainfall reportedly caused severe flooding, leading to displacement and destruction of homes and critical infrastructure.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the devastating flood that has ravaged our communities, leaving behind pain, destruction, and sorrow. I mourn with the bereaved families and pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of those who lost their lives. May God grant their families the strength to bear the irreparable loss,” Mustapha said.

He also commended the efforts of the Adamawa State Government, security agencies and emergency responders for their prompt action, while calling on the Federal Government, humanitarian agencies, and well-meaning Nigerians to render urgent assistance to ease the burden of the affected communities.

“The emotional and economic toll of this disaster is unimaginable. I want the survivors and all those displaced or affected to know that they are not alone. My thoughts and prayers are with every individual and household grappling with this situation,” he added.

The elder statesman urged the people to remain hopeful and united as they navigate the recovery process. He emphasized the need for long-term support and resilience-building to prevent future occurrences.

Mustapha prayed that God would comfort the afflicted, restore what has been lost, and guide the rebuilding process across the affected areas.
