The Adamawa Football Club under the Ministry of Youth and sports development is facing a serious management Crisis.
The crisis has been rocking the state’s football team, holding it to a limbo situation to progress which football fans are shifting blames to the officials of the club.
According to a senior sportswriter journalist, Mr. Samuel Gagwaja that the club for many years has been in oblivion with nothing to show forth because of the leadership crisis that has encroached into the past glory of the team.
Samuel who is the Adamawa state Chairman of sport writers association (SWAN) worried that the uncertainty of the club worsen when the current chairman (Zira) turned to a super leader to the extent the Governor is not able to remove him to correct the abnormalities he injected into the club since he assume its leader for over two decades.
The Club’s football Chairman, Emmanuel Zira who Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri through the Commissioner of the Ministry, Mr. Aloysius Baba Dokes slammed suspension on him Samuel said is usurping government power of the highest order by refusing to set aside for proper management.
“The decision to suspend the Chairman was the right thing to do to sanitize the club in the interest of the Government of the day. But one wonders why must Zira seem the owner of the state’s football team even when is glaringly known to everyone he has killed the football team?
” I can only say that the chairman is bigger than Adamawa state government. I was well informed that the SSG called him for a round table meeting he refused to come, the State Assembly invited him he refused to appear in person, worse of it all the Governor suspended him but is still going about Parading himself the chairman telling the whole world that a commissioner cannot suspend him because is answerable to the office of Adamawa state chief of staff.
“May I remind the Government of the state under the leadership of Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri that Zira is bent on destroying the football club. I’m a sports analyst for many years under his watch we see nothing more than relegation and failures for the state’s team.” Samuel said
Zira has never waiver a bit or gotten sidetracked from all the noise-making, he goes about doing and controlling the affairs of the club including every financial aspect Tgnews.com.ng gathered.
In many interviews with local radio stations, our correspondent monitored Zira to be firmed about his decision of none compliance with the letter claim to be emanated from the office of the honorable commissioner.
According to him, his appointment letter was given by Governor Fintiri not the commissioner, and his suspension can only be given by the same man that gave him the appointment.
His actions so far are bend toward controlling the affairs of the club, as usual, putting any other issue under his foot Tgnews.com.ng authenticated.
Recall on the 30th August 2021 this medium report that Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the suspension of Emmanuel Zira, Chairman Adamawa united.
The letter of suspension was written from the office of the Honourable Commissioner and Ministry of Youths and sports and addressed to Zira with the heading “Re: urgent need to rescue Adamawa United Football club.”
Honorable Commissioner Youths and Sports, Hon. Aloysius Baba Doke said the suspension is in line with the policies of the government and its willingness to develop every sector.
The suspension which was recommended by the commissioner for the immediate relief of Zira’s duties and functions for the club as Manager, the letter said is with immediate effects and called on the management team to hand over government properties within 48 hours to the permanent secretary of the ministry.
“In line with the above, His Excellency has recommended the Constituting a 5-Man panel who will investigate, audit, and evaluate the activities of the association from 2015 to date.
” Furthermore the commissioner of Youth and sport shall take over the immediate management of Adamawa United for the meantime before the forensic investigating panel finishes its job.” The letter read
While thanking the suspended management team for their service rendered, the letter read urging them to remain calm as it is an exercise done in good fate in the interest of the Adamawa people.
‘The task of forming an acting management team will be done with immediate effect to not distract the football team from its matches.” Read the letter
Austin Ajayi another football writer said, “Despite the suspension letter written by order of the Governor, there is seems to be a subversive order against the instruction of gov Fintiri backing Zira to control the affairs of the club at a much wider longitude and altitudes he wishes.”
This according to him is undermining the office of the commissioner and subjecting the state government into a state of mockery of a mere employer disobeying an executive order.
The development calls for concern by many football enthusiasts regarding the scenario to be magic playing well within the corridors of power in Adamawa State Government House.
Alh.Musa.G.Monidafe, Chairman, Adamawa State Sports council added his voice by saying he wonders why an order of the number one seat of Adamawa is being violated with no recourse haven known the gross misconduct Zira committed for his over twenty years of the football club manager.
“Can somebody tell me what is happening in Adamawa State? Football to be precise? Mr. Emma Zira was suspended by his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintirin, about three months ago but Mr. Zira is still claiming to be the Chairman of Adamawa united and still has access to the finance of the Club?
” I can’t imagine what is going on, this same man was indicted of gross financial misconduct, his over two decades managing the affairs of the club no a single trophy he brought to the state as an achievement, despite the suspension this Man dares to tell the world is in charge and only answerable to the orders of the Governor not under the control of the ministry’s commissioner,” Musa said
Musa While calling on Governor Ahmadu to replace Zira with a better person knowing the fact that Adamawa football club under his watch is dead, he said the embattle Zira has collected money running into millions meant for the club for his personal use will not change for the better in the good of the club.
“We have many better persons the government can hire since this Man has failed woefully to straighten up the performance of the club for the many years he has been managing the club.
” I’m assuming the government to even look within the state, they can find many good coaches, team managers to tackle the problem the club is facing,” Musa added
All efforts to reach Mr. Emmanuel was not successful to respond to allegations raised against him as his line was not going through at the time of filling in this report
