Adamawa Gov backs President Tinubu On Fuel Subsidy Removal and Unified Forex

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is calling on Adamawa State citizens to support the federal government on removal of fuel subsidy and elimination of multiple exchange rates.

He made the call while addressing members of Bwatiye Development Association who called on him in the Government House, Yola to congratulate him on his second term mandate.

Governor Umaru Fintiri who appreciates the development, noted that the policies will no doubt improve the nation’s economy for the better.

Fintiri urged the citizens to bear the current hardships brought by the policies, assuring that the situation was temporary, as development will soon thrive.

Governor Fintiri addressing the delegation and said his administration will soon put in place measures to cushion the hardships of workers and citizens in the state by deploying wisely the available resources for the betterment of all.

While thanking the Bwatiye delegation for the visit, Governor Fintiri appreciates their support and prayers to his administration, assuring to continue to do just to all Adamawa residents.

He stressed that the days of giving government political appointments on the basis of premodial sentiments was over as only credible and hardworking people will henceforth given such responsibility under his administration.

“In the last four years, we remove Adamawa from the comatose of underdevelopment. We will ensure part of our priority is to remove people out of poverty and deploy massive investment in education, health and rural development.

“We have restructured our security, I call on you to join in the fight against criminals as the government cannot do it alone. This time, we will take the fight to the criminals rather than waiting for them.

“Peace has returned to Numan Federation, fighting criminality is a continuous process, join our traditional rulers, give them all the support to build a peaceful society that Adamawa will continue to enjoy.

The Chairman Board of Trustees of the Bwatiye Development Association, Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki commended Governor Fintiri for selecting their son and daughter as Deputy Governor and Attorney General.

Earlier in his remarks, the President of the Association, Chief Iliya James said the resounding second term victory of Governor Fintiri at the polls was a testimony of his good governance in the state.

As a sociocultural association, he said, the group is working in tandem with the peace policy of the present administration for the development and progress of the state.

Highlights of the event were cultural dance display by various groups, presentation of cultural gifts to Governor Fintiri while a special prayer was offered for guidance to the Fintiri administration.
