Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has extended his heart felt condolences to the Nigeria Union of Journalists over the gruesome murder of one of its members in Adamawa State, Late Maxwell Nashan.
The late Maxwell Nashan, who until his death, was a staff of the FRCN FM Radio Fombina in Adamawa State was an active reporter who was doing well while maintaining a balance reportage from his beat at the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
Governor Fintiri frowned at the attack which claimed the life of the journalist, saying noble professionals of the fourth realm should not in anyway be endangered in the society given their very important role.
While further sympathizing with the NUJ and all journalists in Adamawa state, the Governor appealed to them to remain steadfast in their daily reportage and not be intimidated promising that enhanced security network to protect the citizenry remains an utmost priority of his government.
The Governor is also calling on the Nigerian Union of journalists to effectively set up the relevant machinery that will ensure that slain journalists are properly taken care of through the provision of the necessary insurance schemes that will cater for their families in the event of untimely death such as this.

described journalism as a reputable profession whose members are contributing to the desimination of Information that is beneficial throughout the world.
While asking journalists to also learn to avoid being vulnerable to attacks, he further enjoined them to remain committed in their works saying the society truly appreciates them.
