The Adamawa state government has earmarked about three hundred hectares of land across five local government areas as a pilot project for agricultural production.

A committee has also been constituted by the government to draw a road map on Agriculture to boost food security in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Dr. Thakma Sini Amos disclosed this development during an interactive session with Newsmen in Yola, the Adamawa state Capital.

The Adviser explained that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has scaled up the budget for Agriculture to procure seedlings and fertilizer for farmers for this year’s2024 wet season.

Chakma Sini Amos advised farmers to always know the source of their pesticides and fertilizer as well as avoid burning crop residues on their farmlands to avoid erosions.

According to him, though the rain and weather conditions are posing a serious threat to food production, the State Government is evolving new techniques and technologies for mechanized Agriculture in Adamawa state.
