A statement by the Adamawa State Governor,Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has consoled the state’s chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the sudden death of Ibrahim Abdulaziz, Voice of America correspondent.
Humwashi Wonosikou, Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu in the statement he signed quoted Fintiri to have said:
“Abdulaziz’s death is coming at a time when the Media Industry can benefit more from his wealth of experience.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Ibrahim Abdulaziz at a time his contributions are needed to engender development in the State”
He urged the family to draw courage and strength from Allah at this trying moment.
Fintiri consoled that late Abdulaziz was a versatile journalist who had worked variously with Voice of America Hausa Service, Premium Times, Daily Trust, and Blueprint Newspapers.
He also worked with New Telegraph Newspaper, FRCN Fombina FM as well as Gotel Communications before the unfortunate auto crash that claimed his life.
“Governor Fintiri expressed his condolences and that of the Government and the entire people of Adamawa State to NUJ, the family of the deceased and his close associates. He noted that “.
While describing as sad and devastating the loss of the great journalist, Governor Fintiri pointed out that though very painful, one has to take heart and appreciate Almighty Allah for the life well spent
“Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri prays Allah to grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus and the family, the fortitude to bear the loss.” The statement read
In the same vein the Adamawa Police Command commissioner, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji in a statement signed by the police public relations officer, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Ngoruje said late Ibrahim was a versatile and experienced journalist who contributed immensely and supported the command in fighting against crime.
“The Commissioner of Police, therefore, prayed for the gentle soul of the departed to rest in peace and to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.” It stated
