As a deliberate effort to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the services of the state, the Adamawa State Government is deploying modern technology to plug up leakages in the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.
The modern technology, according to the government, would block all avenues of leakages in the IGR; thereby, improving and making resources available for the services of the state.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance Adamawa state, Mr Geoffrey Garba, made this known in his goodwill message at the inauguration ceremony of the House Standing Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation of the Adamawa state House of Assembly yestaday.
According to the Permanent Secretary, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, led administration in the state is bringing in new technology in order to plug up all leakages in the state revenues for the development of the state.
Mr Garba, told the committee that technology driven method would contain with leakages in the overall interest of the state, saying other places have moved forward, and there is the need for us to also move forward with the changing world.
He pledged the readiness of the executive arm towards supporting the new house committee so as to live up to the expectations of Assembly and the entire state, saying” our own is to give the committee absolute loyalty and support “.
Finance, he added is the engine room for every development, and that without it nothing would be achieved.
He congratulated the Speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, and the committee for the successful inauguration ceremony.
