From Emmanuel Samuel, Yola

The Global Soul Harvesters Ministry, aka Global Faith Assembly, in Adamawa now has a new Overseer in the person of Pastor Mrs. Martha Yohanna Adams. During the consecration/ordination ceremony in Yola, capital of Adamawa State on 20 July, 2020, the Chairman of the State Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Japhet E. Tonmwaso, charged the new Overseer to remain dedicated and always listen to the voice of God and not men.
Rev. Dr. Tonmwaso also ordained nine Pastors, including Tony Banyawa, James Jacob, Vincent Udeh, Michael Obanya, Barnabas Barminas, Ayuba Basa, Elvis Nkubuin, Emmanuel Madani, and Saidu Isa, and two Elders, Stephen Tiya and Josiah Joshua.

“As a mother of the Ministry, you need to carry everybody along, while ensuring that you operate in line with the Constitution of the Ministry. I believe God will help you tremendously in this assignment,” the PFN Chairman further advised the new Overseer.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman, North-East Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Rev. Chris Busari, called on the PFN to work hand-in-glove in order to strengthen the body of Christ. While expressing optimism that the new Overseer would perform well, he told newsmen, “The Overseer is not really new because she has been in the Ministry right from its foundation. I strongly believe she is coming with a rich experience and will not faulter.”
Delivering his sermon, Rev Papa Jalo read from Hebrews 5:4, insisting that God alone gives leadership and power to whoever He wishes at His own time, even as he urged the new Overseer to depend on the Almighty and do everything possible in order to deliver.

In her response, Pastor Mrs. Martha Yohanna Adams thanked the leadership of the ministry for bestowing confidence in her, while also describing her consecration to the helm of the Ministry as the will of God. Going down memory lane, she recalled the labour of her late husband, Pastor Yohanna Y. Adams, President and Founder of the Ministry.
“Today marks yet another Milestone in the history of Global Souls Harvesters Ministry, aka Global Faith Assembly. After the demise of the President and Founder of this Ministry, my beloved Husband, Pastor Yohanna Y. Adams many years ago and that of the General Overseer, Pastor Christian Bulus recently, another new leader is taking over the mantle of leadership in the Ministry today.

“This Ministry was born out of a deep conviction by His Servant, Late Pastor Adams, whose vision I am an integral part of. Without mincing words, I will continue from where he stopped and we will together go back to “the ancient landmark,” the new Global Faith Assembly Overseer said.

Speaking further, she emphasised, “Late Pastor Adams laid the foundation of this great Ministry, while the General Overseer, Late Pastor Christian Bulus, continued building the body of Christ (the Ministry). By the grace of God, we will continue from where they stopped, in Jesus name! Amen,” she said.

“As I said during my appointment as the Acting General Overseer of the Ministry, I have accepted this position to serve and not to be served. I would like to make it explicitly clear that I am only a servant but the Ministry belongs to all of us,” Pastor Mrs. Martha further stated, while explaining that she had no option than to step into the work of the Ministry.

“As the occasion arose and God spoke through His servants that I should lead, I could not say no. Like any other mortal being made of flesh and blood, I have no other choice than to succumb to the will of the Almighty God,” she said and assured members of the Ministry that she would run an open-door policy. “My doors will always be open for your pieces of advice, suggestions, and above all, prayers. Let us encourage one another in the Lord and uphold soul harvesting, prayers, visitation, love and care for one another on which this ministry was founded, especially at this time of a new beginning,” she stated.
