Some Journalist working with Adamawa state Television (ATV) beg the government for improved working condition of service to enable them carried out their routine activities (roving) effectively.
This is as a result of the only long over used Toyota starlet donated by the Local Governments Chairman’s forum in 2000 during Boni Haruna’s regime is no doubt need a replacement.
The vehicle which was donated to only carried out the errands of senior staff of the station has now turned up to be the only roving vehicle that they are managing to service them in and outside the state capital.
The Journalist said that for them to result in begging the present administration to change their roving vehicle and to improve their working condition is the only morale booster that will make them to do their job well and to meet up In time with any tasking assignments.
According to them that in some situations they lack confidence to go to a particular place in search of a news or news maker because of how teared the official vehicle for roving is.
Speaking in a state of anonymous they revealed that the car has been breaking down at the peak of rushing down to file in report.
“Though we have the passion and the zeal on our job but we lack the encouragement and the basic incentives to propel us to work well at times to meet up with reports deadline.
“We don’t cover the state well for lack of working tools and modernised equipments that will properly help us in carrying out our routine activities for the general public,covering the activities of the state government which happens to be our employer.
“Most a times people taunt us of using a scrap vehicle,others calling us with a mocking name as 6-2 news with a tetanus car.” They said
