The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday intensified its campaign for the June 13, 2026 local government elections, with its governorship candidate, Maurice Vunobolki, leading party leaders and supporters on a campaign tour across Mubi South and Mubi North Local Government Areas.

The campaign featured the official presentation of party flags to PDP chairmanship and councillorship candidates, as party leaders urged residents to vote massively for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming polls.
The exercise commenced in Gella, Mubi South, where the PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Engr. Belmond Dogo, formally presented the party flag to the council chairmanship candidate, Hon. Shuaibu Danabba Abubakar.
Addressing party supporters, Vunobolki described the local government election as a critical step toward strengthening grassroots governance and delivering democratic dividends to communities. He called on voters to support Danabba and all PDP councillorship candidates, assuring them that the party remained committed to addressing the needs of the people.
“Our focus is on building strong and responsive local governments that will bring development closer to the people. We urge residents to come out and vote for all PDP candidates,” he said.
The campaign train later moved to Mubi North, where party leaders presented the PDP flag to the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Musa Hassan.
Speaking at the event, Vunobolki described Hassan as an experienced grassroots politician with the capacity to provide effective leadership at the local government level. He urged voters in the area to turn out in large numbers and support the PDP’s entire ticket during the election.
As part of the visit to Mubi, the PDP delegation paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Mubi, Isa Ahmadu, where Vunobolki commended the traditional ruler for his leadership and contributions to peace and development within the emirate
The PDP governorship candidate also prayed for the monarch’s continued good health, wisdom, and guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Responding through a representative, the Emir expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged Vunobolki’s longstanding support for the emirate. He particularly commended his contribution toward the installation of solar power facilities at the palace, describing it as a gesture that had positively impacted the traditional institution.
The monarch offered prayers for Vunobolki and members of his campaign team, wishing them success as they continue consultations and campaign activities across Adamawa State ahead of the local government elections.
The Mubi campaign rally attracted party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, women supporters, and residents from both local government areas, underscoring the PDP’s determination to consolidate support ahead of the June 13 polls.
