Adamawa LGA election: Political parties sign peace Accord as Fintiri’s aide warns against thuggery

Ahead of 13th July Scheduled Local Government areas election by Adamawa State Independent electoral commission (ADSIEC), a peace accord was organised by Jimeta Unity Consultation Forum.

The Forum brought together political Stakeholders and party stalwarts of various political parties and brainstormed on the conduct of the election.

Emphasis were made for all candidates to tow the path of peace and extend hands and spirit of sportsmanship, comradeship for Peace to reign in Jimeta, the State Capital.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Community peace and security to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was at the meeting as a special guest to witness the peace pack stressed that the political parties owe a duty to Peace.

Honorable Ahmed Lawan made a passionate appeal for the parties to remain calm and make sure their party members tow the path of peace.

Lawan reiterated that the government of Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri revolves around Peace and is what he cherishes to develop the State.

According to him Govenor Fintiri is bringing meaningful development to the State because of the lasting peace is enjoying and will not condone any form of rascality against the Peaceful nature of the state because of the election scheduled for Saturday 13th July 2024.

He called on citizens to go about their normal life and exercise their franchise right as law abiding people before, during and after the election.

He warmed that anyone bridging law and order will face the wrath of the Law and the Law will be fierce on any political Party fermenting trouble or fanning embers of thuggery.

Ahmed the Local Government areas election is first of its kind for a peace pack to be signed to sure Peace is maintained and sustained through our the electioneering time and beyond.
