
Ribadu square has on Saturday became busy with Beehive of activities over the Coronation of Chief Sunny Moniedafe, Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), by Alhaji Muhammadu Baba Paris, Dan Isa Adamawa, and the District Head of Jimeta.
Sunny an APC national figure was coronated amidst fanfare, jubilation as “Jagaba” Jimeta with visitors from far and near thronged the venue to celebrate him.

Sunny, while delivering his speech, thanking the District head, APC supporters said the award of Jagaba is a nature in him to serve humanity.
He said the turban marks another milestone in the country’s journey to greater political, economic, and social development because of the bold and constructive steps taken by the District Head of Jimeta, Baba Paris in consolidating the structure of traditional authority in his domain.
“Since his appointment and subsequent inauguration as district head of Jimeta, he has painstakingly taken bold steps in upgrading the structure of governance in his area under jurisdiction. These include developing and implementing viable plans and projects aimed at smoothing community relations and enhancing the quality of life of his people.
” Paris’ most recent commendable strategy which involves identifying and honoring illustrious sons and daughters of his district by conferring upon them well-deserved titles, has gone a long way in boosting our collective prestige and strengthening our sense of solidarity as a community,” Sunny said
Sunny, who is aspiring the APC national chairman has during an interview reiterated that the traditional title of Jagaba is a uniting office that he will use to unite the country if giving the opportunity of the National leadership of the party.
The Jimeta born Urhobo Man has lived his life for about sixty-five years in Jimeta, Yola North local government, Adamawa state and understand that Nigeria is one, the beauty of living as an entity will bring and sustain its togetherness if primordial sentiments of religion, place of origin and tribe are discarded.
Eighty-two years Bashiru Tukur who was the father of the day during the occasion has extolled and Chronicled the peaceful coexistence that exists between the family of Ezekiel Moniedafe, father to sunny who was a photographer legend in the 50s said sunny was a “Kota” all his life, he has no other town to call his own but Jimeta.
“Sunny is very proud of being a Jimeta Boy, indeed that is the essence of it, honoring a Jimeta boy with the chieftaincy of Jagaba Jimeta,” Bashir said
He continued to say that Mr. Ezekiel Moniedafe came to Jimeta in 1950 as an Urhobo, set up himself, and got assimilated with Jimeta people. He had all his 12 children. No doubt he thought he was raising them as Urhobo. Yes, they grew up speaking Urhobo but did not know there was anything other than the Jimeta community.
“Sunny grew up speaking Hausa and Fulfulde, believe me, in the case of sunny and me and my bike, we were not aware of anything other than we were human beings and Jimetans and more than anything else, Adamawans and Nigerians as we became what we have become in our latest lives.
“It is all said and done the Jagaba is seated, all we the subjects of the Dan Isa have to do is to pay our obeisance to the new Jagaba and wish him Allah’s guidance. He is now no longer an ordinary person but an official assistant of the district head and with due respect, an exalted servant of we the people. From my knowledge of the Moniedafe family in general and sunny especially which spans 70 years, all told, I have no doubt sunny will not be found Wanting.”
