Muslim Council, Yola South local government branch will soon commence training of youths in various skills of their choice as part of efforts to make self-reliant and contribute to the socio-economic growth of the state.
Already, sixty volunteer trainers have indicated their willingness to partner with the council for the training of the youths.
The chairman of the council, Engineer Mohammad Bashir Buba disclosed this Sunday while inaugurating ward EXCOs across the local government area, said the training will done under the newly constituted committee on Muslim Council Apprenticeship Scheme, MCAS.
Engineer Buba who hold the traditional title holder of Wakili Makaranta Yola charged the newly inaugurated EXCOs across the local government area to operate within the provisions of the council constitution, stressing that the local government headquarters of the council will be monitoring their activities.
Engineer Bashir called on them to build bridges among diverse people within their various ward by ensuring justice to all.
“I will seize this opportunity to urge you to fear Allah (SWT) and do justice in all your endeavours as elected leaders. Bring on board all Islamic organizations in this ward. Let all of them be part of all that is happening here.”
“My Chairman, may I remind you from now till the end of your tenure, you will be observed and judged by those who elected you-please don’t disappoint them.”
“Bring understanding within Muslims as well as non-Muslims in this ward. Consult and work with all our stakeholders in this ward.” He said.
The chairman enumerated some achievements recorded by the council at the local government within four months of its inauguration to include familiarization visit to all the wards and key stakeholders as well as setting up committees amongst are Sulhu, Da’awah and Women wing.
In their separate remarks, the ward chairmen pledged to discharge their duties in accordance with the provisions of the council constitution and solicit support and cooperation from Muslim Ummah to enable them succeed.
