In a colourful ceremony held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Yola, the State Coordinator of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in Adamawa State, Barrister Khalifa Musa Lawan, has been conferred with a coveted Award of Excellence by the Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments and Agencies in Adamawa State.
The prestigious recognition was bestowed on Barr. Lawan in acknowledgement of his “outstanding service, exceptional leadership, and unwavering commitment to effective public service delivery” since assuming office as NEDC State Coordinator.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of the Committee praised Lawan for his selfless support to federal institutions in the state and his remarkable contributions toward the actualization of the Commission’s mandate of rebuilding and rehabilitating communities devastated by insurgency and other developmental challenges across the North-East region.
“Your exemplary conduct, transparency, and result-oriented approach have not only elevated the profile of the NEDC in Adamawa but have also fostered greater synergy among federal agencies operating in the state,” the Chairman stated.
In his acceptance speech, a visibly elated Barr. Khalifa Lawan dedicated the award to the management and staff of the NEDC, as well as to the resilient people of Adamawa and the North-East.
“This award is a testament to what is possible when we work together with sincerity of purpose. It belongs to every staff member of the NEDC in Adamawa and to the communities we serve daily,” he said.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to delivering more life-changing interventions in education, health, infrastructure, and livelihood support, adding that the recognition would further spur the team to redouble its efforts.
The event was attended by top government officials, heads of federal ministries, departments and agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders who described the honour as well-deserved.
With this latest accolade, Barr. Khalifa M. Lawan continues to solidify his reputation as one of the most impactful public servants in Adamawa State, earning widespread admiration for his quiet but highly effective leadership style at the forefront of North-East reconstruction and development.
