Yola Branch of the Nigeria Society of Engineers got new officials to Man the affairs of the professional body in the State.
Engr Mundi Musa Ibrahim, the outgoing Chairman in a colorful handover ceremony at the branch secretariat in Yola handed the mantle of leadership to Engr Amin Ahmadu Yaro as the new Chairman.
Musa in his farewell speech gave a scorecard of his administration to have surmounted daunting financial challenges and a lot of other issues ranging from members’ commitment and Many others.
While calling on Aminu to be brave and build on the existing leadership strides of his administration, he charged him to be brave and maintain the growing status of the society as he has started with Many members during his regime becoming fellows and many others joined the union.
Aminu during the swearing-in ceremony gave an inaugural speech and it’s another important day that marks a milestone in the annals of the Yola NSE Branch to lead for two years.
He said thirty years of the Yola NSE Branch in existence was bequeathed for them by the founding members a union that’s growing from strength to strength both in terms of membership and in terms of activities and from squatting at the old Ministry of Works to occupying its own Secretariate.
Aminu however said that the society in recent times witnessed a decline in the area of members’ participation in its activities, and this has negatively affected the morale of both members and the exco who struggled to fly the flag of the branch irrespective of the myriad of challenges faced.
He assured members of innovation to grow society in an unprecedented manner.
According to him, the Yola Branch of NSE under his regime will: “intend to strategize in the area of dues payment by reviving the hitherto NSE liaison officer method at each workplace. We will organize Workshops where engineers attend to update their knowledge while the society is also empowered.

“We hope to collaborate with the Governor Fintiri-led Adamawa State Government, being an engineering-friendly government, considering its giant strides in the area of infrastructural development of the state, to promote the profession of engineering and to seek for implementation of appropriate policies that would move to engineer forward.”
