The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State Council has extended warmest felicitations to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Speaker of the state Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, and other stakeholders on the occasion of the 2024 Christmas celebration.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, and Secretary, Fidelis Jockthan, the union rejoiced with its members and the good people of Adamawa State, emphasizing the significance of Christmas as a commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and its essence to mankind.
The union urged the people of Adamawa State to reciprocate the gesture by maintaining and promoting peace, which is “priceless and paramount” in a heterogeneous society like theirs
The NUJ noted that the 2024 Christmas celebration is special for Adamawa people, given the monumental infrastructural development and expansion of traditional institutions achieved by Governor Fintiri’s administration. The union urged the people of Adamawa State to reciprocate the gesture by maintaining and promoting peace, which is “priceless and paramount” in a heterogeneous society like theirs.
The statement also highlighted the importance of the media in reshaping democracy and encouraged journalists to use the festive period to instill patriotism and fear of God in the minds of Adamawa State citizens.
The NUJ’s Christmas message was characterized by a sense of hope, unity, and appreciation for the progress made in Adamawa State under Governor Fintiri’s leadership.
