A seven-Man committee was inaugurated by the Adamawa State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to checkmate quackery in the pen pushing profession.
The committee was set up during the state Congress of the Union held at it’s Secretariate in Yola, Saturday.

The National Trustee representing North East Zone, Mallam Salisu Abubakar who inaugurated the committee, stated that the national body of the union deemed it necessary to inaugurate disciplinary and quackery committee in all the 36 states of the country to ensure sanity in the profession.
Salisu called on the committee to be committed and faithful to the work to ensure that the trust bestowed on them will not be truncated.
Those inaugurated were Comrade Saidu Mohammed of NTA Yola as Chairman, Tina Phineas of New Nigeria Newspaper as Secretary, and PRO, NSCDC, Mansur Sajoh, as member.
Other members were NUJ Chairman, Ishaka Donald Dedan and NUJ Secretary, Fidelis Jockthan. A DSS representative and the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) were also inaugurated as members.
