As the crisis rocking the Adamawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) continue to fester, the interim chairman of the reformed PDP (r-PDP), Alhaji Jauro Girei has disclosed that their faction will commence membership registration drive come Friday 28 February, 2020.
The interim chairman who made the disclosure was optimistic that 90 percent of the current members of the party will register with them having lost all hope in the Fintiri led administration’s capacity to treat the party faithfuls in a just and fair manner.
He noted that their decision to form the splinter group was sequel to the irredeemable disposition of the PDP leadership in Adamawa State towards addressing complaints of injustice despite repeated exhortations and trials.
Girei noted that Adamawa state PDP is turning into a behemoth which thrives by trampling on all constitutional provisions as such, concerned members have to make sacrifices to bail the party from its descent into ineluctable perdition.
“The party has currently taken the path to inexorable perdition and only men of conscience and honour can salvage it from self destruction.
” We are grateful to Dr. Umar Ardo who is the leading light against this latest onslaught on the party which has already gained momentum and will surely bring the desired outcome.
“We are equally grateful to senator Cliff Abbo for joining the train that will crush the new tendencies which if not checked, will pulverize the party,” Gire said.
The interim chairman noted that currently the party is ruled like a personal property of some few minions who by their attitude are behaving as if they inherited the party from their parents and can run it with blithe regard for laid down rules and procedures adding that it is preposterous for people to maintain their positions as party leaders despite occupying other positions before.

“But to our consternation, after serving their tenures, they still come back and continue their stewardship as local government chairmen of the party. This is simply unacceptable because it is contrary to the party constitution,” he said.
Girei said that even at the state level, the AT Shehu led exco is holding forte illegally as he is occupying the position in total contravention to the party’s constitution.
“Out of the 21 local governments in the state, only 3 have not served as caretaker committees chairmen but 18 of them served as caretaker committee chairmen only to continue leading as local government party chairmen after completing their terms. This is unacceptable by all standards,” he said.
He said in due course the r-PDP will form three committees including advisory committee, reconciliation committee and disciplinary committee adding that they will kick start the process of reconciliation after which they will take the right disciplinary measures on any one who refused to utilize the opportunity.
But in a phone chat with our correspondent, the state chairman of the party AT Shehu said the r-PDP exponents are on their own as the party didn’t recognized them.
He noted that the group is a bunch of rabble rousers who do not deserve response as even the convener of the group Dr. Umar Ardo has been expelled from the party for anti-party activities.
