The people’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa state have denied a purported story that 166kgs of indian hemp were intercepted in the house of the party’s youth leader by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
Barr. A.T Shehu, State Chairman of the party signed a press release making categorical statements that:
“We wish to state unequivocally that since 2019, the office of the Youth Leader, Peoples Democratic Party Adamawa State had been vacant following the election of the then Youth Leader Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki into the Adamawa State House of Assembly. The Party is yet to fill the existing vacancy of the position of the State Youth Leader.
“For the records, let it be known that the Adamawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no Youth Leader presently and therefore no Indian hemp can be said to be found in the Youth Leader’s house.”
The party however warned that they shall not subscribe to any deliberate and intentional act of placing the gamut of the menace at the door step of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While we support the immense effort of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in getting rid of the Dealers and consumers of hard drugs especially by our vibrant and promising youth,accused the opposition party of having the desperate move because of the laudable achievement being recording in the state by Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,Governor.
“It is therefore a figment of imagination and a deliberate mis representation of facts by the management of NAS FM Yola, probably aimed at tarnishing the good image of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the eyes of the public, This act is nothing but a desperation on the part of the opposition having seen the developmental strides of the Peoples Democratic Party-led administration in the State.” It stated
