Adamawa PDP Guber Candidate Maurice attracts Crowds as Local govt Election Campaign kicks off in Madagali, Michika

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Chief Maurice Vunobolki and his entourage, received a rousing reception from residents of Madagali and Michika Local Government Areas during the official flag-off of the party’s campaign for the forthcoming local council elections scheduled for June 13, 2026.

The campaign tour commenced in Madagali, where Chief Vunobolki and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Ptil Madagali in respect for the institution of traditional leadership. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Acting Ptil Madagali, His Royal Highness Emmanuel Samdu, who is currently overseeing the affairs of the Chiefdom while the substantive monarch is on a religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

Addressing traditional leaders and community stakeholders, Chief Vunobolki expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to his team and offered prayers for continued peace, unity, development, and prosperity across the Chiefdom and Adamawa State as a whole.

In his remarks, the Acting Ptil Madagali commended the visit, describing it as a reflection of respect for traditional institutions and community values. He prayed for divine guidance, protection, and success for the delegation in their future endeavors.

Following the palace visit, the PDP campaign train proceeded to the main rally venue, where thousands of party supporters gathered. Chief Vunobolki urged residents to support the PDP’s chairmanship candidate, Hon. Yusuf Mohammed, and the party’s ten councillorship candidates in the forthcoming election. He emphasized the importance of grassroots governance and called on voters to participate actively in the democratic process.

The campaign later moved to neighboring Michika Local Government Area, where party supporters also turned out in large numbers. Due to the absence of the paramount ruler, His Royal Majesty Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga, Mbege Ka Michika, who was reportedly out of town, the delegation proceeded directly to the campaign venue.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Chief Vunobolki reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to local development and urged voters to elect the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon. Paul Danbiyu Tumba, alongside all sixteen PDP councillorship candidates contesting in the area. He described both Madagali and Michika as longstanding PDP strongholds and expressed confidence in the party’s chances at the polls.

Several party leaders, community representatives, and campaign officials, including the State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Engr. Belmond Dogo also addressed supporters at both events, expressing optimism about the PDP’s prospects and predicting victory in the upcoming local government elections.

The twin rallies highlighted the party’s grassroots mobilization efforts and underscored the significance of local elections in shaping governance and development at the community level across Adamawa State.
