Adamawa PDP set for state Congress,Clears 39 Candidates

Ahead of the People’s Democractic Party PDP state congress in Adamawa on Saturday this week, its screening Committee has cleared thirty nine aspirants that will be for elective posts.

The exercise which was inline with the principles and guidelines of the PDP was conducted on Monday by a five man committee headed by Mrs Joe at the state party Secretariat in Yola.

Briefing newsmen shortly after the screening exercise, Chairman of the four man committee Mamu Alhaji Mohammed said all the all the aspirants presented were found duly eligible to contest for the PDP state executives.

Alhaji Mohammed described the exercise as rancour free and successful as the Committee has followed all the laid down guidelines enshrined in the PDP constitution during the screening exercise.

He noted with appreciation the calibre of aspirants presented whom according to him include retired high ranking civil servants and technocrats, as well important personalities.

While thanking the outgoing officials for the services rendered for the PDP, the chairman of the screening Committee expressed the believe that the cleared crop of leaders will take the party to the pedestals of development.

Responding on behalf of the aspirants cleared, the State Chairman of the PDP Barrister Tahir Shehu thanked the screening Committee for the commitment towards success of the national assignment.

He pledged that the cleared aspirants will put in their best to make the PDP wax stronger in the country in addition to ensuring support to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Umaru Fintiri.
