Yahaya Balarabe, 25 years old, resident of Dage Village, Ganye Local Government Area has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for stabbing to death his close friend Usman.
The Adamawa State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje in a statement said the State Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris described the incident unfortunate and directed Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to takeover investigation and ensure law takes its course.
The statement reads in part: “The Adamawa State Police Command on 17/7/2024, apprehended a 25 years old for stabbing to death his close friend Usman and robbed him of his Motorcycle and the sum of Twenty Thousand Naira (20,000).
“The suspect was apprehended following the report received from the Deceased family members and recovery of material evidences at the scene of the crime which is linked to him.
“The suspect, Yahaya Balarabe, a resident of Dage Village, Ganye Local Government Area accompanied the Victim to his farm with pretence to assist him spray Chemicals on his farm, there and then, the suspect, brutally attacked and killed the deceased, Usman by Stabbing him with a Sharp Cutlass on the head and threw him into a gutter.
According to the statement, the suspect has voluntarily made a confessional statement of committing the crime.
The statement said the Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris had commended Operatives of Ganye Divisional police Headquarters for arresting the suspect.
The Police Boss equally calls on the citizens to always report people of suspicious character around their neighbourhoods to the police.
