…says 58 suspected criminals arrested, Toyota jeep, bus, 2 AK-47 rifles recovered
A hideout of a criminal known as Sambisa forest in Adamawa was raided by the police of Adamawa state command and arrested over fifty-eight suspects.
During a scorecard Press Conference by the Command of the Nigerian Police in Adamawa, the new commissioner of police, CP Morris Dankombo said forty Young men have been arrested in a forest called Sambisa in the state.
The people arrested were connected to criminal activities of attacking people with guns and dangerous weapons in tricycles which are widely known as Shila Boys.
The CP gave a report card of his four-week stewardship in the state adding that since he came, the police have given criminals a bloody nose.
In the press conference at the state police headquarters, the CP who stated that he hit the ground running said immediately after his resumption, he organized a coordinated onslaught against criminals making life hot and difficult for them.
He noted that so far the effort has started yielding results as no fewer than 58 suspected shilla boys, kidnappers, and armed robbers were arrested.
“When I took over the affairs of the command on the 14th of February 2024, I made a promise to the good people of this state that I would fight crime and criminality to the barest minimum to ensure that the remnants of criminal elements have been flushed out of the state.
“During the period forty shilla boys, 11 kidnappers, and 7 armed robbery suspects were arrested. In all a total of 58 suspects have been arrested.
He announced exhibits recovered to include one Toyota Prado Jeep, one Hummer bus, two AK-47s with twenty-five rounds of live ammunition, N10,690, leather containing charms and rings, one power bank, and two GSM handsets.
The commissioner thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the good people of Adamawa State for their continued support while pledging to ensure the suspects were duly prosecuted.
