On what it consider another set of achievements from 1st July to date, the police in Adamawa under the watchful eyes of the Commissioner, Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju paraded 33 kidnappers, 10 robbery suspects (Shila Boys), 2 cult members for committing various crimes, and 16 for inciting communal clash in the state.
Olugbenga while addressing journalists at the police state headquarters said the gallant officer alongside professional hunters recovered five AK 47 rifles, two single barrel guns, one G3, one revolver pistol and 328 rounds of lives ammunition.
Other recoveries made by the police are 10 carriages, one Toyota vehicle with Reg NO.RBH186AA, 58,420 thousand nairas, one Tricycle and one human part (eye).
Commissioner Adeyanju told media men that the command at Fufore, Maiha, Ganye, Gombi, Mubi North and Yola North Local Government Areas apprehended about 58 ‘M’ suspects for kidnapping activities, armed robberies and communal clashes.
“Five AK 47 rifles, two single barrel guns, one G3 rifle, one revolver pistol, One Toyota Corolla, one tricycle, 328 rounds of live Ammunitions, 47 rounds of live ammunition of G3 Rifle, 5 live ammunition of revolver pistol and Ten cartridges.
” Following reports received by the command, the Gallant officers and men of anti-kidnapping unit /SIB and professional Hunters succeeded in dislodging the criminals from their hideouts in from various areas like Fofure, Maiha, Mubi North and Yola North Local Government Areas and arrested the above syndicate of kidnappers that kidnapped and collected ransoms of about N5,400,000 from one Alh. Iro Ibrahim, Nasiru Saleh, Alh. Muntari Salihu, Alh. Ahmadu Malami and Nana Hafizu respective.
“The group further confessed to have kidnapped one Nana Hafizu, of Maiha,Ya’u Dande of Song LGA and Ali Hassan Digital from Mubi North Local Government Areas,” Olubenga said
