…recovers 3 AK 47 Rifles, one G3 rifle, 199 round of lives ammunition, 5 carriages 1 tractor, 2 vehicles
The Adamawa state police commissioner, Olubenga Adeyanju, FDC said the command has made another achievement as the result of the relentless efforts/sacrifices made by the gallant officers and men of the command with much support from Government and good people of the state.
Olubenga while addressing journalist at the police headquarters in Yola revealed that the command has apprehended eighteen kidnappers, eight-armed robbers, seven rapists, three car snatchers/receivers.
Also, he disclosed that recoveries were made from the suspected criminals of 3 AK 47 Rifles, one G3 rifle, 199 round of lives ammunition, 5 carriages 1 tractor, 2 vehicles and sixty thousand nairas.
On criminal conspiracy, CP Olubenga said kidnappers were found with unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm from Hammadau Hamman, Wakili Tashi, Mohammed Saidu,Iwali Dady, Sunday Zirah, Ezra Newton, Jacob Luka and Timothy Nelson.
According to him, the suspects on the 12th July 2020 one Abdullahi Umar a resident of Modire reported that same date between the hours of 0200hrs and 0300hrs unknown gunmen invaded his house situated at more, Yola South Local Government and kidnapped his wife Aishatu Abdullahi and his one year Baby.
“They subsequently released them after collecting the sum of one million ten the naira only as ransom.” He said
Others kidnappers arrested are Musa Mohammed, Saidu Ibrahim, Buba Manu, Manu Alh Umaru, Maikano Aliyu, Umaru Isa and Mohammed Abubakar with 3 AK47 rifles, 180 lives ammunition, one G3 rifle with 19 lives ammunition.
The CP commended the people of the state forgiven them useful information leading to the tame of criminal activities in the state.
Olubenga who is bare a year been transferred to the state, he said the rate of crime in the state jas been significantly reduced to the barest minimum as Shila Boys cult group are not existing again in the state.
