Adamawa state council of Radio, Television, theatre and Arts workers (RATTAWU) embroiled in leadership crisis from what some members of the union described as “Kangaroo election held last Saturday.
Dean Peters Ndwakahide told our correspondent that the last Saturday election of the union was marred and hijacked by none members against the wishes of the majority.
Dean Peters Ndwakahide, Enson Elias, Abdulaziz U. Bansi, Batrobas Innocent Tonpuko and twenty others went before Honourable Daniel John, Judge of Upper Area Court 2 in the area Court division of Adamawa state Judiciary got a court order praying an order of interim injunction restraining the defendants from parading/acting as chairman, vice-chairman.
The plaintiffs dragged Shehu Sa’ad, Bay Ode Dare Peter, RATTAWU and seven others before the honourable court as Respondents as Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Financial Secretary and public Secretary respectively of Adamawa state council of RATAWU.
The Court in the Interim order restrained the 1st -8th aforementioned Defendants from Parading themselves as the newly elected officials of the union pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
” This order takes effect immediately and should be served on the Defendants/Respondents for compliance.
“Meanwhile matter is adjourned to 6th August 2020 for the hearing of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.” The order Stated
