The Social Investment Programme (SIP) is poised to train 2854 cooks for the Schools Feeding Programme (SFP) in Adamawa.
Commodore Usman Bodes (rtd), Focal Person for the SIP in Adamawa made this known on Wednesday in an interview with our correspondent in Yola.
Bodes said that the cooks would be trained on the handling of food for the pupils.
According to him the trainers who had received a multi sectoral training would step down the training to cooks in various ways of handling public cooking.
Bodes said that the first phase of the programme would fully kick off in July ending.
The focal person added that his office has concluded all the processes waiting for the last process from its national coordinating office in the presidency to validate the last list.
He assured that the programme would impact positively on the well-being of Adamawa pupils.
He called on the public to support in monitoring the programme to achieve its goal.
He commended the Adamawa government for the provision of office accommodation and some logistics.
He however, explained that the SFP was not on a counter part funding base and you can recall that the SIP in Yola has earlier conducted its selection of cooks for the programme.
