The Adamawa State Government has announced that it will begin paying the new national minimum wage of ₦70,000 to civil servants starting from August.
This decision was made after a meeting between Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Emmanuel Fashe.
Pledged to implement the new minimum wage during the 2024 May Day celebration.
The governor had previously pledged to implement the new minimum wage during the 2024 May Day celebration.
The 2019 consequential adjustment template will be used to calculate the new wage percentages, and the Accountant General’s office will update the August payroll accordingly.
However, local government workers may not receive their salary adjustments until September, pending the completion of the necessary review by the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commiss ion.
