Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state has employed 149 Nurses and Midwives to Man the various General and cottage hospital for better health delivery.
The Head of service of the state Barr Musa Kaibo broke out the news during a reception to honor Comrade Thomas Ahmed Shettima on his appointment as the General Secretary of Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives which took place at American University of Nigeria (AUN) Club Thursday in Yola town.
Kaibo said such massive employment into the health sector of the state government is first of it kind and lauded the Governor for the good gesture.
The Governor in his speech at the occasion disclosed that salaries arrears and allowances of all the Nurses and midwives working in the state has been settled and charged the celebrant to leave up to expectation noting that whom much is given much is expected from him.
‘’ I belief without Nurses to man our health care centers there would be no Medical Doctors both are intertwined in health care services delivery to the people’’ the governor added.
‘’Governors across the federation should make salary payment to workers as top priority of their administration’’.
Reacting on the development Comrade Lami Aminu state chairman NANNM said all is set to issue out employment letter to the 149 Nurses and Midwives employed ,
She said many Nurses and Midwives have retired from the state civil service which added a lot of work load on those still in service noting that a situation where three Nurses managing a health care center is inadequate, she pointed out.
The Celebrant Comrade Thomas Ahmed Shettima in his remark applauded the Governor for his developmental stride in the state particularly in areas of road constructions and rehabilitation in the state.
