The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Adamawa State Chapter, has showered praise on Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his unprecedented allocation of pilgrimage slots, enabling a remarkable 30% youth representation in the 2025 Easter Pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel.
In a heartfelt letter, the group described the governor’s gesture as a transformative act of leadership that has deepened unity and rekindled hope among the state’s diverse communities.
In the letter, signed by Rev. Dr. Gabriel L. Shall, YOWICAN’s Adamawa Chairman, the youth lauded Fintiri’s administration for its commitment to fostering peace, inclusivity, and harmonious coexistence across religious, tribal, and political lines.
“This historic gesture has reaffirmed our faith in this government and its dedication to the welfare of all citizens,” Shall wrote, calling the pilgrimage a “beacon of hope” and a testament to faith, perseverance, and collaboration.
The group also extended gratitude to key stakeholders who played pivotal roles in the pilgrimage’s success: Chief Geoffrey Garba, Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Pilgrim Board; HRM Barr. Alheri Bulus Nyako, leader of the state’s delegation; Bishop Shadrach Theophilus, Chairman of the Board; Rev. Dr. Joel D. Manzo, Adamawa State CAN Chairman; and Mr. David Simon Dzalla, Director of Youth, Women, and Education. Their collective efforts, the letter noted, ensured the seamless execution of the initiative.
The 2025 Easter Pilgrimage, recently concluded, has been hailed as a landmark event, with young pilgrims gaining spiritual enrichment and a renewed sense of purpose.
