ADC Adamawa Chapter Launches Statewide Membership Drive: Sets Up Committees for Mobilization, Revalidation, Registration

The Adamawa State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rolled out a comprehensive statewide exercise for Membership Mobilization, Revalidation, and Registration (MMRR), following the national flag-off and inauguration of state committees by the party’s headquarters in Abuja on February 12, 2026.

The national ceremony brought together state party chairmen, stalwarts, coalition allies, and legacy members in a show of unity aimed at fortifying the ADC’s structures across Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT.

In response, the Adamawa chapter held a key stakeholders’ meeting to map out effective implementation across the state’s 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 226 wards.

Stakeholders unanimously approved the establishment of layered committees to guarantee coordination, transparency, and success in the exercise.

Leading the effort is the State MMRR Steering Committee, chaired by Amb. Umar Suleman Dokaji Adamawa (also known as Engr. Omar Suleiman), with Chief Peter Hadley Dili serving as State Secretary.

This committee will provide overall supervision, policy guidance, coordination with the national headquarters, and ensure full compliance with party constitution and procedures.

Supporting structures include a State Technical and Data Management Committee responsible for handling registration materials, data collation, validation, secure management, and timely reporting from LGAs.

A State Mobilization and Publicity Committee will drive sensitization campaigns, grassroots engagement across the 21 LGAs, and collaboration with stakeholders and coalition partners.

At the grassroots level, 21 LGA MMRR Implementation Committees will oversee ward activities, promote inclusivity and accountability, and deliver regular progress updates to the state level.

Complementing them are 226 Ward MMRR Registration Committees tasked with direct mobilization, revalidation, registration, accurate record-keeping, and fostering unity at the community level.

The chapter emphasized that the MMRR process will uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in line with ADC guidelines.

Addressing party representatives, Amb. Umar Suleman Dokaji Adamawa clarified that the state transition committee is not required to collaborate with the existing state chapter, prompting a renewed call for all stakeholders and members across the 21 LGAs and 226 wards to actively participate in this pivotal exercise.

The initiative is positioned as a foundational step to consolidate, harmonize, and reposition the ADC in Adamawa State for stronger performance in upcoming political engagements.

The Adamawa chapter expressed confidence that collective commitment will yield greater victories for the party, urging widespread involvement to build a robust membership base.
