The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State has made a strategic push to bolster its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections, extending a formal invitation to Governor Dauda Lawal to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join its growing platform.
The announcement, made during a press briefing in Gusau on Friday, signals the ADC’s ambition to emerge as a formidable political force in the state and beyond.
ADC State Chairman Alhaji Kabiru Garba described the party as an “emerging force” in Zamfara’s political landscape, emphasizing its commitment to justice, fairness, and inclusive leadership. “We are ready to welcome Governor Dauda Lawal if he decides to join our party. We don’t discriminate.
The doors of ADC are open to everyone, including the governor,” Garba stated, highlighting the party’s open-door policy for defectors from all political backgrounds.
Garba’s invitation comes at a time of heightened political maneuvering, as the ADC positions itself as a viable alternative to Nigeria’s dominant parties.
