The Adamawa State House of Assembly is probably the most vibrant one in the country because of the free spirit of democracy the lawmakers are exhibiting during and after the plenaries in the state,a spirit when proper sustain will definitely consolidate the change mantra agitating by the present administration.
My Opinion will be detestable to some concern or political analysis in the state, critic may still think I m one of the fun fan of the lawmaker,a paid writer of the House. Their believe might not be unconnected to the long age political crisis right from the administration of Boni Haruna where he narrowly escaped an impeachment saga instituted against him when Rt Hon.James Barka was the speaker.
The tenure of Murtala Nyako Was also characterised with tense crisis that led to his impeachment and issued in speaker Umaru Fintiri to be the acting Governor as the Constitution provided, even as at the time Fintiri was brought in to control the affairs of the state by the reasons of removing both Nyako and his deputy,Bala Ngilari.
A lot of people passed on their remorse opinions on the recent crisis that rocked the state House of Assembly between the suspended Member representing Mubi South, Abdularahman Abubakar Isa,who was suspended on the ground of peddling unfounded and ungenuine information to the general public.
Abdulrahman was a member chaired committee on integrity group and a chairman committee of finance and appropriation budget has since gone to Court to seek for an injunction to return him back from the three months suspension. But he was returned after a long period of six months and was given a different committee to be chairing.
It has been a counter and counter attacks from both the members, general public and even some quarters at the national level.
For me I am seeing a growing democracy in the state House of Assembly in action,where every law maker is sitting up to know his right and doing what his or her people send them to do, I am seeing a truly opposition with their divergent views that when consolidated it will bigger up our growing democracy in the state.
My concern and my feelings is what is going on in the pages and the walls of some people in the social media,adding salts to more false information, which will be leading the entire state into information catastrophic at the end,it has the possible of over stretching the government to do the unnecessary that will affect the general public.
Some time ago few social media propagandist wrongly propagate a false allegations against the law to have squandered about N356 million unduly.
In as much i believe in an information sharing, i equally believe the right information should be shared for people’s sake. The broke down the sharing of this money without telling the general public the source of their findings, I did not see where the commissioner of finance attesting that the law makers receive 356 million for training in America, Pakistan and even in British. The moneys still Said was shared for cars,furniture and running of the activities of the House.
The question I will rather to ask, is either the lawmakers are not entitle of their official Vehicles? Or does it mean that the law makers are not to he trained? Do the House as an independent arm of Government should not maintain all her utilities untold the general public approved?
May be the Chamber should no longer run the affairs of the house as it should be. Without much in defence to this amiable lawmakers, I want a sort of comparison between the present six Assembly and the past ones on financial prudence and accountability.
As some body that being closely following the activities of the House Assembly I stand on my opinion to say that their stories is without roots and is baselessly construed without cogent facts .
If they should write at all they should be objective and balance to help the good people of Adamawa state I believe they should give good informatition,why didn’t they mentioned the efforts of the lawmakers in passing bills and doing a lots of constituency projects in their various locations?
I make my standing opinion on the ground to feed our people with the good information that will enhance peace, unity, awareness, development,enlightenment and progress.
I’m pleading to all writers on the social media that we should write with all sense of objectivity, conscious, good findings and with a journalistic reportage that will help to give our people who the own and rely on us for good report.
They are meritoriously receiving recognition here and there,a sign showing they are hard working and answering to their duty calls.
